Yunus Musah, ambassador of the I VCF Academy World Cup

The Valencia CF player and international for the USA will act as host for the 10 teams arriving from America, Asia, Africa and Europe

Countdown to the I VCF Academy World Cup, which this June will experience its first edition at the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna with the presence of 10 teams from America, Asia, Africa and Europe.

A great international experience for young players under 12 years of age who from June 23 to 26 will have the opportunity to live together in a 100% football environment and visit the facilities of the VCF Academy, one of the best in Europe in the training of players for the elite according to the latest reports from the CIES Football Observatory.

This I VCF Academy World Cup will have an unbeatable ambassador: the Valencia CF and US national team player Yunus Musah, who throughout his training and professional career has also enjoyed experiences playing football in various countries such as Italy or England before joining the VCF Academy from where he  broke into the first team squad.

Young with experience

“For me it is an honor to be the ambassador of this I VCF Academy World Cup” says the 19-year-old player who arrived at the VCF Academy in 2019 and who with Valencia CF has completed two seasons playing 76 official matches scoring 5 goals. Yunus is in the top 10 of the European players under the age of 20 with the most experience in the competition, according to another recent report by the CIES Football Observatory.

Previous training camp

In addition to participating in the VCF Academy World Cup, the players from America, Asia, Europe and Africa will have the opportunity to enjoy a week of training at the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna facilities and a football and cultural experience in Valencia learning about the Mestalla and different emblematic places of the city of Valencia.

The I VCF Academy World Cup will promote the expansion of the VCF Soccer Programs project, giving it greater visibility and offering an unforgettable experience to the players of the VCF Soccer Academies, Technical Partners and International Alliances. This I VCF Academy World Cup was born with the aim of creating a tournament that is held every season and that grows, edition after edition, in terms of participation and image.

30th anniversary of Ciutat Esportiva

This first edition of the VCF Academy World Cup coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna, which is celebrated in 2022. The different teams that participate in the tournament will be able to appreciate the new theme of the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna and learn in depth the values ​​project carried out by the VCF Academy.

During this time, it has not stopped growing in terms of the available resources and the improvement of the working methodology to train football players for the elite and educate the nearly 450 boys and girls who train every day on their playing pitches after the full integration of the entire women's structure in the VCF Academy and in the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna.

In these 30 years there are more than 100 players who, having trained at the VCF Academy, have debuted in an official match with the first team, six of them this season: César Tárrega, Cristhian Mosquera, Rubén Iranzo, Javi Guerra, Jesús Santiago Yellu and Mario Dominguez.
